At HYF we value the relationships we have with individuals and other organizations. Here are a few of them.
Mountaineers for the Himalayas Foundation is a private, non-political, non-profit marking, non-religious and non-governmental organization (NGO) created by mountaineers anxious to assist helpless children in the remote mountainous districts of Nepal, Pakistan, Tibet, India and Bhutan. MHF strongly believes that elementary education is the best guarantee to generate the economic, social, cultural and politic progress of this area.
The Himalayan Children’s Foundation (HCF) was founded in 1997 by a group of young and energetic Nepali social workers with the objective of improving the education, health and living condition of helpless, poor and orphaned children from the mountain districts of Nepal. Particular focus is placed on the Tibetan border regions of Dolpo, Mustang, Manang, Gorkha, Baglung and Solukhumbu etc. Due to the remoteness of these areas, basic education is essentially unavailable.
The Choki Traditional Art School (CTAS) was established in April 1999 as Bhutan’s only private traditional arts school. It provides skills-related education in the traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan at no charge to poor Bhutanese students who are unable to attend or complete a formal education or attend the National Art School.
The Fontana Foundation was established in November 2008 by Mario Fontana and is domiciled in Zurich, Switzerland. The foundation’s goal is to help the poorest in this world by giving them access to essential infrastructure, to affordable loans and to training, so they can lead autonomous and productive lives in dignity and prosperity.
