Celebrating Mother Earth Every Day!
As we approach Earth Day this year, let’s take a minute to reflect on some of the ways life at Kailash Home serves not only the residents of campus but also the sustainability of Mother Earth!
We’ve prioritized and upgraded the green space in the middle of campus, recently adding more trees and plants! 🌱
There’s no such thing as single use dishware and cutlery at Kailash! 🥣 Our Kailash Kids collect and wash their plates, cup, bowls, and any utensils after every meal to be used again for the next. Plus, every student has his or her own reusable water bottle to take with them for each school day and around campus.
On campus the recycling club maintains the variety of waste receptacles including designated bins for trash and recyclable materials.
Our on campus garden program provides a variety of vegetables 🥗 and fresh eggs 🍳 that are used in meals every week. Plus, our students learn the skills and techniques required to grow their own food!
Every year sees any number of programs and events to help educate our students about ways to live sustainably in fun ways — like the ever popular Trashion show where outfits are made entirely from recycled and up-cycled materials!🥻
