Kailash Home

Located on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Kailash Home is a residential campus for 100 children who primarily come from the most remote and poorest mountain villages of Nepal. Many of our Kailash Kids are survivors of abuse or have been displaced by natural disasters and political upheavals — some of the children have also been abandoned or orphaned. Operated by the Himalayan Children’s Foundation (HCF), a charitable organization registered with the Nepali Government, Kailash Home is directly supported by the Himalayan Youth Foundation.

Choki Traditional Arts School

Founded in 1999 and located in Kabessa, Choki Traditional Arts School (CTAS) is Bhutan’s only private traditional arts school. The school provides skills-related education in the traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan at no charge to students, among them impoverished Bhutanese youth who are unable to participate in formal education or attend the National Arts School. In 2002, HYF began a partnership with CTAS and continues to provide resources and support annually.
